The Potala Palace and Lhasa Square from the top of the Jokhang. When we first went to Lhasa there was no square; Lhasa itself was a mandala with the Jokhang its center. You came to the temple through a maze of little streets between stone houses. The new Chinese city of Lhasa is all wide, straight, lit up boulevards.
