Mindroling is pretty much newly rebuilt. This is taken from the monastery "guest house" which is very basic but you do get to live the way the pilgrims live and eat what the monks eat. Soon there will be a hotel in the town. The incense that they make here is known in China as the world's best -- you can also buy it in the big Chinese set of shops next to the Mandala hotel in Lhasa. (The restaurant at the top of these shops is also fun, with a great view of the square and the Potala.)
