32. Newari Oil Lamp with Angel. Nepal, 19th Century. 10" (25 cm.) high. Brass. Made for a wealthy family in the Kathmandu valley in wonderful mixture of Victorian and Nepalese styles. The angel is dressed in Nepalese clothing with a long braid down her back; the two different styles of wings are a puzzle, although they seem to be part of the original casting. The smaller wing has a part broken from the top as well as one feather broken from the bottom. $425.
